Come and Fool around with us on the best beach in Texas for a 2-Day event!  We encourage you to bring your family and friends and dress up in your most foolish costume as you tackle the 5k and/or 10K course!  A portion of proceeds will be benefiting Walk for Women, Inc. a non-profit organization that benefits women in the lower Rio Grande Valley by providing financial, prosthetic and diagnostic support as they battle breast cancer.   

Join us on Friday April 5th to pick up your packet and enjoy a complimentary Wellness Fair from local health & wellness businesses.  Make sure to stay for our Music & Margaritas Mixer, you don’t wanna miss this one!  Margaritaville Beach Resort is our event hotel providing you with awesome discounted rates. “It’s a sweet life, living by the salty sea.” – Jimmy Buffett 

The Fool’s Run course will start on the beach in front of Margaritaville Beach Resort, continuing on in the north direction.  Participants in the 5K and 10K have the option to walk and/or run throughout the course and will turn around at the halfway point to complete the course.  The course will end in front of Margaritaville Beach Resort.  Male and Female restrooms will always be open though out the hotel for participants. There is Valet parking available for purchase at the event hotel and limited complimentary lot parking on site.  Hydration stations will be provided on site at Margaritaville, as well as, at the halfway points on the race course.  Award ceremonies and live music entertainment will be held immediately following the race/walk at Margaritaville Beach Resort! 

The Start/Finish line set-up with double sided race clock, will be placed directly on the beach in front of the hotel at Margaritaville. 

RACE COURSE:
10K (6.2 miles). Starts and ends on the beach at Margaritaville Beach Resort on South Padre Island. Water and gatorade stations will be provided along the course and at the finish line. EMS protection will be provided. This will be a chip-timed course.  You have the option to walk and/or run. 

5K (3.1 miles). This course starts and ends on the beach at Margaritaville Beach Resort on South Padre Island. THIS IS NOT A RACE. IT IS A PARTICIPATION WALK.  If you’d like, you have the option to also jog and/or run.  EMS protection will be provided. 

AWARDS & PRESENTATIONS: Medals will be given to the overall 1st through 3rd male and female winners as well as 1st through 3rd place winners in each male and female age division of the 10K. In addition, the overall top male and female winners will receive a special prize!  Overall winners will be ineligible for awards in their respective age divisions. ALL PARTICIPANTS CROSSING THE FINISH LINES WILL RECEIVE FINISHER MEDALS. (while supplies last!).  Participants are encouraged to dress up in their most “foolish” costume for a chance to win a sweet prize for “best costume”! 

TO RECEIVE A T-SHIRT, YOU MUST REGISTER FOR THE EVENT BY FRIDAY MARCH 1ST 2024!!! FINIISHER MEDALS WILL BE LIMITED WHILE SUPPLIES LAST!!! ALL REGISTRATIONS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE AND EVENT WILL CONTINUE RAIN OR SHINE!

1:00-8:00pm: Packet Pickup & late registration at Margaritaville
Sommer Sculpt will give participants 1 comp Margarita voucher & other goodies upon event registration
4:00pm: Hotel Check-In at Margaritaville Beach Resort
5:30pm-10:00pm: “Music & Margaritas Mixer” at the Front Patio hors d’oeuvres sponsored by Margaritaville  

Saturday April 6, 2024  
6:00am: IAAP begins setting up on beach in front of Margaritaville  
8:00am: 10K run starts/ends on the beach in front of Margaritaville
8:15am: 5K walk starts/ends on the beach in front of Margaritaville
9:15am: Awards & Costume Contest begin at Front Patio  
10:00am: Hotel breakfast available for purchase: show bib for discounted rate  
11:00am: After Race Pool Party w/ DJ and pool cabanas at Salty Rim Bar  

Tropical Smoothie Café will sponsor water stations on race path. In addition, will sponsor breakfast bites post-run  
Masseuse tables giving participants complimentary massages post-run  
Discounted rates on IV Drips and Lipo B-12 shots post-run
