SOUTH TEXAS HEALTH SYSTEM® PRESENTS STEPS FOR STROKE – A COMMUNITY EVENT DEDICATED TO SUPPORTING THE FIGHT AGAINST STROKE

 

The South Texas Health System Neurosciences & Stroke Institute invites you to take part in our special Steps for Stroke event to commemorate American Stroke Month. The event will include tips on reaching the CDC-recommended goal of 10,000 steps per day while bringing together stroke survivors and their families, friends and caregivers to raise  awareness and promote the importance of physical activity.

 Activities include: • Strength Training • Functional Movement • Agility Training • Endurance Training, and more!

 

Join stroke survivors, the stroke care community, and  the loved ones of those lost to stroke as we celebrate  the courage of survivors and their families, as well as those who are no longer with us.

Entry Fees

Challenge Period: Saturday, May 18, 9 – 11 a.m

T-shirt guaranteed for all participants who  register by the deadline.

Registration Fee: $15

All proceeds raised will benefit a local  non-profit organization.

Logging Your Steps

How to log your steps- each individual person must log in as him/herself:

  • Sign up for the race
  • Go for a run or walk and count your steps
  • Login to Athlete Guild using your profile created during registration.  Make sure the email address you use is unique to you and hasn’t been used by someone else in your family.  If you need help getting this straightened out, just contact webmaster@athleteguild.com
  • Head to this event page
  • Click Results
  • Look up your name and click Update
  • Enter your steps and click submit – Your results will accumulate with each entry.  You can enter new entries as often as needed.
  • Tell all your friends!
