This month marks a major milestone for Athlete Guild. We turn 5 years old! While those of us within the company have been in the business for much longer than that; the company itself is turning 5. It's an exciting time for us. It's amazing to look back at the last 5 years and see where we have come from. It started out as a simple idea to work with a few local charities and provide quality and affordable services, but quickly grew from there. We're now one of the largest event management and timing companies in the country. It has been a lot of work and we're constantly striving to improve, but it has been well worth it. We're most proud of the fact that the organizations that we have helped have been able to raise much needed funds for their operations. Our pricing model working with these organizations allows them to do that without breaking the bank. It means that we don't make what we could, but our goal is to first serve the organizations that we work with. We figure that if they are successful, then we will be too.
We've seen a lot of advancements in the course of our business. Timing itself is becoming much more sophisticated. We're constantly on the lookout to make sure we're using the latest technology and providing the best services that we can. It's important to us, the race directors, and especially the athletes. There are still companies using outdated technologies and they work okay, but our goal is to not just be another timing company, but to the best at what we do. It's expensive for us, but we think it's worth it to go that extra mile. This includes new technologies in readers, timing chips, and advancements in the way that we get information to you. It starts with our website and the tools and capabiities that we have built in. It ends with the final results after the event has been completed. There is a lot that happens in between and we are working on several things to make that even better. We're always willing to try new things to see how they work and whether they are useful to you. We don't always get it right or execute as well as we would like, but we constantly push to improve.
Internally, we are excited about the prospects for the coming year and beyond. There are many more events both in quantity and type than ever before. It's a great time to be an athlete as there are so many opportunities to be challenged and at the same time help benefit different causes. We're glad to be part of that and look forward to the future.
