About

For Bandera I.S.D., it would be an honor to be able to host the 2014 District 29-AAAA Cross Country Meet.  In hosting the meet, goals would be to assure that everyone is treated fairly, and that District 29-AAAA advances its best competitors to the 2014 U.I.L. Region IV Cross Country Meet. All schools would share the responsibility of officiating the meet.

Accompanying this introductory letter is a proposal for the 2014 District 29-AAAA Cross Country Meet.  The accompanying proposed 2014 District 29-AAAA Cross Country Meet information is based on information that has been distributed for the district meets over the last five years.  To assure that each District 29-AAAA school has input in structuring the meet, each coach is being asked to please review the 2014 District 29-AAAA Cross Country Meet information as soon as possible.  Should Bandera I.S.D. be chosen to host the 2014 District 29-AAAA Cross Country Meet, distribution of the following information now will provide ample time for each of the district cross country coaches to review and make comments and suggestions, as well as pose any relevant questions, related to the information.  If responses suggest that any changes need to be made to the meet proposal, alterations in the meet details will be made and forwarded to each school.  A course map will be forwarded in late August or early September.  That map should be the final map, unless inclement weather (Bandera is continuously hoping and praying for rain) requires alterations.

Because of the meet location in Bandera City Park, each District 29-AAAA school will need to provide 3 workers for the meet.  Worker assignments for the meet are included in the District 29-AAAA information packet, which accompanies this introductory letter.

When time comes to submit it, the U.I.L. Varsity Entry Form can be found on the U.I.L. website, which is http://www.uiltexas.org .  According to U.I.L. rule, this form is to be submitted to the meet director at least 5 days prior to the district meet date of Wednesday, October 22, 2014, which means the entry deadline is Friday, October 17, 2014.

The registration of all sub-varsity and junior high, as well as all varsity entries will be done through athleteguild.com.  If you think that a student-athlete may run in the 2014 District 29-AAAA Cross Country Meet, please be sure to register that student-athlete with athleteguild.com, since all bib numbers and chips will be provided by Athlete Guild.  If a school is going to run one or more of its three alternates listed on the U.I.L. Varsity Entry Form in the varsity division, then the coach must let Scott Wood know which of the alternates will be running at the varsity level prior to the varsity race on Wednesday,

October 22, 2014.   Once registration of runners begins, all registration questions are to be directed to Scott Wood at:

During the 2014 invitational cross country season, Bandera I.S.D. will host the Bandera Bulldog Nation Early Season Cross Country Invitational on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 and the Bandera Bulldog Nation Pre-District Invitational Cross Country Meet on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 in Bandera City Park.  The course for both of these Bandera I.S.D. cross country invitational meets will be same course that will be run at the 2014 District 29-AAAA Cross Country Meet, if Bandera I.S.D. is chosen to host the 2014 District 29-AAAA Cross Country Meet.  Like the District 29-AAAA Cross Country Meet, the Bandera Bulldog Nation Early Season Cross Country Invitational and the Bandera Bulldog Nation Pre-District Cross Country Invitational will be chip timed by Scott Wood of Athlete Guild, so all student-athlete registrations for any of the three meets would need to be done online at athleteguild.com. Attached is invitation information for both the Bandera Bulldog Nation Early Cross Country Invitational on Wednesday, September 10 and the Bandera Bulldog Nation Pre-District Invitational Cross Country Meet on Wednesday, October 15.
